Ayas Shilpa is a privately held company based in Sullia, Karnataka, India, specializing in the construction of low-cost suspension bridges. The company was founded by Girish Bharadwaj in 1975 after the fabrication of a 75-meter footbridge across river Payasvini at Arambur, a remote village in Dakshina Kannada.[1]

Since then, Ayas Shilpa has built more than 110[2] such suspension bridges at one-tenth the cost of conventional ones.[3] Most of the bridges are located remote rural areas, and have been constructed in less than three months, as against standard concrete bridges that take local government agencies three years to build.[4]

The longest suspension bridge built by Ayas Shilpa is 220 metres long, across the river Ghata Prabha near Belgaum.[5]
