Bahman Castle (Persian: دژ بهمن) is the center of idolaters[clarification needed], from the 10th century story of Shahnameh in Ardabil or northeastern Iran. The Iranians were always worried about the inhabitants of this castle, but until the time of Kay Khosrow the Iranians could not conquer it. Apparently there were Zoroastrian villages in the Bahman fortress Lands territory and were sometimes harassed by the castle inhabitants, so Kay Kāvus wished to destroy it but failed.
The story of Kay khosrow[edit]
Born in Turan, Khosrow was kidnapped from Turan by Giv in his early teens and entered Iran. He first came to Isfahan where he was Governance by Goudarz, and after a while came to Iran with his grandfather, Kāvus. The issue of succession came to the fore with the arrival of Khosrow to Iran, as Fariburz was the son of Kavus according to the Prince's law, but now the succession of Khosrow was also raised.[1] Kavus devised a plan for a proper succession, each succeeding to conquer the Bahman fortress become the king of Iran. Fariburz and the Tous Army returned unsuccessfully after six months. It was now the turn of the Khosrow under the patronage of the Goudarz Army who set out to conquer the fort.[2]
Bahman Castle Siege[edit]
For the Iranians, the capture of the castle was a strategic goal because inside it and the land around it, terrible news and rumors were being heard. They considered the castel to be filled with magic and witches, and it were generally considered invincible. The place of idolatry and the unbelievers, the enemy of the Zoroaster, Khosrow had previously converted to the Mazdisena religion in the Kaaba Azargoshasp, and was quite a religious man with the skill of zeal and prayer that could abolish magic. Khosrow wrote the name of God on the sheet and gave to Giv, saying to take it to the fence and leave it, read God name, and come back soon. When Khosrow handwriting was put on the wall of the fence, the wall became dark like a thunder and collapsed, and an earthquake, it was destroyed everywhere, and a door opened into the fence.
