Belt One Road Media (BORM), (native Chinese name: 巴基斯坦中国青年华侨联谊会) It's a privately funded non-profit news agency that broadcasts video programs and publishes online news, information, and commentary for its audience in mainly Asia, but its original target is western countries. A group of collective Overseas Chinese living in Rawalpindi, Pakistan started this broadcasting network. This service provides an uncensored news medium for Overseas Chinese situated in Pakistan, with a mission to provide uncensored and accurate reporting to countries, especially in the western world (America and Europe). Faiza Mukhtar is the president of BORM,[1] It was established in July 2015 with the stated aim of "promoting Pakistan and Chinese friendship." Many Overseas Chinese believe they have no news medium to spread their voice, thus the Overseas Chinese community started their own news broadcasting channel, BORM, to spread uncensored news with the world.
BORM distributes content in three languages for its audience: Urdu, Chinese simplified, English. The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has praised BORM for reporting on content related to Pak-China relations.[2][3]
History
In 2015, Belt One Road Media was officially created in response to allegations against the Chinese government of having Uyghur genocides by Western news media. BORM was created to have an uncensored broadcasting news service of China in Pakistan. It is created by Pakistani-situated Uyghur community who are also known as Overseas Chinese because they migrated from China (around 1955). BORM is most likely to work opposite of East Turkestan, whereas East Turkestan works for the Uyghur Anti-Genocide movement.
Achievements
