Bernie Dwyer
Bernard "Bernie" Dwyer (11 September 1940 - 4 December 2002) was an English Drummer most famous for his work with the 60s Manchester beat group Freddie and the Dreamers.

Career
He was the first Drummer for Freddie and the Dreamers when they first formed in 1963. Since he couldn't do The Freddie (A Dance move made by The Dreamers) during performances due to him being sat down, Dwyer would bob his head left to right. He remained in the band until 1971.

Illness and Death
In June 2002, Bernie was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and would die at St Ann's hospice in Heald Green, Cheadle on 4 December 2002 at the age of 62. His funeral was held at Manchester's Southern Cemetery in Chorlton on on Friday 13 December 2002.[1]
