Berthold Technologies is an international provider of process instrumentation, radiation protection and bioanalytics. The family-run company based in Bad Wildbad has subsidiaries in 7 countries outside Germany. In 2017, the company achieved sales of EUR 77 million with 330 employees.
History
Berthold Technologies was founded in 1949 under the name "Laboratorium (Laboratory) Prof. Dr. Rudolf Berthold" in Bad Wildbad by Rudolf Berthold. The focus was on measuring instruments for industrial applications. In 1960, the bioanalytics business was founded and in 1967 the radiation protection business unit. Since 1949, the company – with the exception of 1989 to 2000 – is privately owned. In 2017, the company Berthold Detection Systems GmbH was taken over and incorporated into the business unit Bioanalytics.

Business units
- Process measuring technology: Non-contact measuring technology based on radiometry or microwaves for use in extreme measuring conditions.
