Big V Telecom is an Indian cloud telephony company which serves both direct clients and also works in partnership with a network of franchises. The company was the first to be incubated by Tata Elxsi in 2013 as part of the $140 Billion Tata Group.[1][2] It is based in Pune, India.
Background[edit]
Big V Telecom was founded by Keshor Daga in 2008 with their flagship product of YOCC (Your Own Contact Centre).
In 2012, as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility drive, Big V Telecom established the Call Anna virtual contact centre for anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare during the Indian anti-corruption movement in 2012.[3]
Big V Telecom has partnered with Western Central Railways for providing the 131 railway enquiry number. The firm is also partnered with BSNL for providing Value Added Services for Maharashtra.[4]
In August 2015, the firm launched a product named Voter First which is propagated as India's first voter engagement and issue resolution application. They are custom built for politicians to interact with their constituents and can be download from Android or iOS stores. Reports suggest that Voter First is just the name of the sub-division of Big V Telecom but the firm's name as such does not appear on app stores. Instead, the politician's apps appear with their respective names and picture as the identity of the mobile app.[5]
The firm in the past had also partnered with TV18's commoditycontrol.com for providing on-spot updates on commodity rates via phone calls to consumers.
While being self-funded, the company recently announced that they are looking for Venture capital funding for further expansion within and outside India.[6]
