Alternative Press (magazine) premiered Crooked Teeth's video "Out Of Place" with an interview where the band announced that it would release its EP Pastel via Blossöm Records.[2]

James collaborated with 2x Grammy® Winner Jan Fairchild[3] (blues and hip hop mogul revered for his work with Mos Def, Mary J. Blige, Elton John, The Roots, Michael Bolton and Sisqó) on U.S. debut "Skin On Me[4]" by Natalie Clark, written and produced by Fairchild, James and Clark.[5]

History[edit]

Blossöm Records is a multi-media creative label and recording studio founded officially in 2016.[10] The label and studio serves as an umbrella for all of Elliot James endeavors, as well as its artists and collaborators. James describes the label as an "a tribute to the labels and projects we grew up passionatly representing".[11]

The labels carnation began after signing a unique remix by Texas Drew of the hit song "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 to Motown and Universal Music Group.[12]

In the fall of 2016, Cobeshack released Headspace Forest, a visual and Interactive surround sound and visual EP.[13] Listeners were invited with the assistance of their device and headphones to explore a visual, audible forest of sounds released as an EP.[14] Much like the video for Soft Dreams Osaka, the video was produced by Elliot James and Cobeshack influenced by elements of vintage Japanese cartoons and life during wartime.[15]

The signature petal logo became discreetly recognized after fans led an underground graffiti campaign started in Los Angeles at the end of 2016, petals have been hash-tagged and shared all over the world. At the end 2016 Blossöm reissued legacy releases of their artist rosters former catalogues.[16][17]

In 2017 James was featured in The Recording Academy's Roundtable series to discuss the Pop Category Nominees for the 59th GRAMMY Awards.[18] Texas Drew released an original remix of the Travis Scott song "Goosebumps". The remix featured another Blossöm Records artist, Dani Rae Vaughn and premiered on Fresh Finds playlist charting its debut at #3 on Spotify's USA Viral 50.[19]
