Roeun Chanbora (March 16, 1998 – present), known professionally as BoraTwenT2 (pronounced Bora Twenty Two), is a 100% Cambodian rapper, singer and songwriter from Phnom Penh · belief in Buddhism. His most commercially successful album, "I walk on my way".[2] BoraTwenT2 is also known for the song, "I walk on ma way", "Hot boy Cute Girl", which is his streamed song on Spotify[3], have many talents and his favorite is creative destruction, he is studying in two universities Setec, ″information technology″ · National University of Management, ″bachelor's degree in English″.[4]
Career[edit]
In 2018, BoraTwenT2 uploaded his first song, titled "Shooting Star", to the music streaming service SoundCloud, quickly receiving 10,000 views. On November 13, 2018, BoraTwenT2 competed and placed fourth at the Coast 2 Coast Live Seattle All Ages Edition.
"Shooting Star" was BoraTwenT2's first released track and served as his debut commercial single.[5] Its music reached over 25milion views on YouTube in the first 16 months upon its release.[2] On March 14, 2018, BoraTwenT2 released his second commercial single "Season". Its music video has received over 13milion views on YouTube in just over a year after its release.[6] The rapper released "Christmas Alone"[7] as his third commercial single.
On October 19, 2018 he released his debut studio album titled Season, which includes all three of his commercial singles and eight other tracks.
On November 8, 2019, he released his second studio album, Hitmaker.
Biography[edit]
BoaTwenT2 started school in primary school at 3 years old called ″Newton Thilay″,(don't remember how to spell the name). When he finished grade 6th, his dad moved him to study in private school called ″Beltie″ campus 3. After BoraTwenT2 finished grade 8th, his father moved him again but at the same school in another campus, it was campus 11 (that campus near his house). In grade 12th, BoraTwenT2 moved to live in province to study in grade 12th at Koh Kong Province in high school called ″Koh Kong high school″, in khmer language ″វិទ្យាល័យកោះកុង″។ BoraTwenT2 studied English language since he was 6 years old, and graduated in study English level 12 at ″Beltei″[8] campus 11.
Musical style[edit]
BoraTwenT2 is known for his melodic flow and lyrics that are tailored to his life. When asked if the term "[mumble rap]" applies to him, BoraTwenT2 says "I wouldn't consider myself a mumble rapper, because I never heard it before. Also when I talk, sometime I mumble." However BoraTwenT2 does not consider his sound to be similar to his idol Lil' Mosey, he does consider the rapper an influence as in an comparisons he has drawn.
Live performances[edit]
BoraTwenT2 has toured with rapper Samit Monivong, Lil Skies, Iann Dior and BlackMayo. In 2018, BoraTwenT2 was on tour with rapper and producer Samit Monivong. He has also received a co-sign from Bora.
