Boyəhməd necropolis I[edit]

Archaeological site on both banks of the Dere River, southwest of Boyəhməd village of Julfa District.[1] It is surrounded by high mountains on all sides. The area is 5000 square meters. Discovered during construction (1989). Some archeological materials have been collected from the destroyed tombs. In 1991, an archeological expedition studied two destroyed and two surviving tombs in the Boyəhməd necropolis, collected some of the finds from the population and handed them over to the Julfa District Museum of History and Ethnography. The stone box contains many ornaments, bronze daggers, yabas, chains, spearheads, etc. from the tombs. Materials were found. As a result of the reconnaissance, it was noted that the graves did not have any surface features. Starting from the depth of 1 m of the excavation site, two human skulls were found facing the west-east direction near the western wall of the tomb. It was found near the south wall, and a bronze scab was found under it. Around the skeletons there are ornaments (bracelets, necklaces, rings, pendants, beads, etc.), and from the tomb there are gray clay products (jugs, cups, bowls, trays, almonds, etc.). From the findings of Boyahmed necropolis e. b. It is believed to date back to the beginning of the 1st millennium.[2]

Boyəhməd necropolis II[edit]

Archaeological site of the first Iron Age north of Boyəhməd village of Julfa District. Cemetery, bordered by a deep ravine to the east and southeast, is located on a high mountain slope. The necropolis was surveyed in 1991. Graves have no surface markings. During the construction of the road, two bronze bracelets, a bronze knife and clay pottery samples were found in the destroyed stone box-type grave. Analysis of archeological materials Indicates that it belongs to the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. Boyəhməd necropolis is located southwest of Boyəhməd village of Julfa District. The necropolis is located on the slope of a high hill descending into a mountain river. In 1989-1991, V.B. Bakhshaliyev conducted research work in the necropolis, which was accidentally discovered during the construction works, and studied four grave monuments. The tombs are stone box-type, built of large slabs on the sides, covered with large flat stones. Collective burial customs were typical for graves. The discovered clay products, bronze weapons and ornaments are characteristic of Khojaly–Gadabay culture. According to archeological materials, the necropolis dates back to. It can be dated to the beginning of the first millennium BC.[1]
