Breach of Peace is an upcoming 2021 mystery-dark fantasy-whodunit-Military fiction-dystopian novella by Daniel Greene, an American Youtuber, and literary critic.

Daniel Greene first announced it on his channel at December, 2020, in a video called My Novella is Coming.[1] It was made available for pre-ordering in Amazon, Kindle and paperback.[2]

It follows Inspectors Khlid, Samuel and Chapman, members of the Officers of God, who is sent to investigate the death of an imperial family.

Plot[edit]

When an imperial family is found butchered, Officers of God are called to investigate. Evidence points to a rebel group trying to stab fear into the very heart of the empire. Inspector Khlid begins a harrowing hunt for those responsible, but when a larger conspiracy comes to light, she struggles to trust even the officers around her.[3]

Release details[edit]

Daniel Greene is an American Youtuber and critic, who started his career at 2016, with his video Let's Review -- In Depth review of the WHEEL OF TIME[4].

In 2019, he revealed he had plans for a novel.[5] He released an audio-based video, read by Merphy Napier, with a short story written by him, set in his fantasy world[6]. He released another video, claiming that he lost all his notes, and therefore had to start from scratch.[7]

On January, 2021, Greene released a video detailing his novella, who was going to read the audiobook, and who was drawing the cover.[8] He also stated it was self-published. In the same month, he also revealed the cover for his book. [9]

It was made available for pre-ordering at Amazon, as an ebook and paperback. The audiobook was going to be read by Michael Kramer and Kate Redding, a person Daniel stated was his favorite audiobook reader.[10] On March 3, 2021, Daniel confirmed the name of the novella trilogy, and did an unboxing of his book. The series name is to be the Lawful Times Trilogy. [11] It reached #1 in Military Fantasy, and #1 in Dark Fantasy. The book had more preorders than a few Harry Potter books, in Amazon, and reached #1 Darkfantasy bestseller in Amazon.[12][13] He also read a few sentences from the first page of the book in a livestream. He send out a few advanced reader copies to a selected few book tubers and reviewers. He received positive reviews.

It is going to be published in March 30, 2021.

Reception[edit]

Daniel Greene stated that he reached out to Evan Winter, asking for a cover quote. Winters wrote the review:

"Existing in a world that feels like its been clawed from the cruelest corners of Abercrombie's FIRST LAW series, Greene's novella blends fantasy, mystery, and horror in a stunningly unique fusion of the works of Arthur Conan Doyle and Stephen King. From page one, we're pulled into the book's universe by the puzzle of a gruesome whodunit, and though the crime is overseen by a cast of compellingly-competent characters, genius is little match for the speed and force of what's coming. Indeed, the book's propulsive pace careens onward until it slams us up against a finish as powerful as the action and catharsis from ALIEN's final showdown. And, at a time when even the best fiction struggles to outrun the madness of reality, BREACH OF PEACE is everything I could ever want from a novella and more!" - Evan Winter[14]

for the cover.

Travis[15] ofThe Fantasy Inn was one of the first reviewers to get a copy, in exchange for a "honest review."[16] They wrote: "It’s always a risky move for a reviewer to try their hand at the craft they critique. If their work doesn’t live up to their own standards of quality, they may lose some of their audience." However, they stated they were pleased with the novella. "Breach of Peace is good. I doubt you'll be disappointed. "[17]
