BreezoMeter

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

BreezoMeter is a global provider of environmental intelligence, offering hyperlocal, accurate air quality information for air pollution, pollen, and wildfires in over 100 countries. Since its foundation in 2014, BreezoMeter has raised over $45 million in funding and has completed a series C fundraising round at the sum of $30 million in 2021.[1]. On July 19th, 2021, Apple released the iOS 14.7 update, which made BreezoMeter’s accurate real-time air quality data available through the iOS weather app[2] in multiple countries, including the US, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and South Korea.

BreezoMeter Technology[edit]

BreezoMeter aggregates information from tens of thousands of different global sources, including governmental sensors, satellites, weather patterns, and traffic data[3]. It uses AI and machine learning algorithms[4] to sift through and organize this complex information[5] and visualize hyperlocal environmental conditions in real-time. The company then produces actionable environmental insights based on hyperlocal environmental conditions.

Business Model[edit]

BreezoMeter’s free Android[6] and iOS[7] apps and live air quality map[8] provide real-time reporting of harmful airborne environmental hazards such as CO2, ozone, PM2.5, Pollen, NO2, and more. BreezoMeter’s accurate environmental reporting is integrated by different businesses across healthcare[9], smart home, automotive,[10] advertising[11], and cosmetic[12] industries. Their customers include Yahoo[13], L'Oréal[14], Dyson[15], and ALK[16]

Environmental Monitoring Products[edit]

Hyperlocal Air Quality Forecasts[edit]

BreezoMeter’s revolutionary air quality reporting and forecasting capabilities deliver information at a 5-meter resolution on an hourly basis. Their stated mission[17] is to empower hundreds of millions of people around the world to protect themselves from airborne environmental hazards.

Daily Pollen Reporting[edit]

BreezoMeter provides a 3-day pollen forecast and a health-based pollen index. Using multi-layered AI-driven pollen forecasting models[18], the coverage reaches a 0.6-mile resolution and is capable of reporting the 3 pollen types (grass, tree, and weed) and indicating health risk according to 15 different plant types.

Live Wildfire Tracking[edit]

BreezoMeter’s Fires API [19]provides information regarding fire size, containment status, and the impact of wildfire smoke on regional air quality based on changing environmental factors. The API also includes actionable wildfire alerts warning users in a 19-62 mile proximity radius.

Weather Monitoring[edit]

BreezoMeter’s Weather API [20]is capable of providing current, hourly, and daily forecasts for up to 5 full days. Temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloud cover, dew, wind, and atmospheric pressure are all provided, as well as a ground-level UV risk index, and 24-hour sun & moon data.

In Pursuit of a Better Future[edit]

BreezoMeter was conceived as a tool to help the company’s co-founder and CEO, Ran Korber, find a non-polluted region for himself and his asthmatic, pregnant wife to safely settle in. The company’s mission statement has since evolved: BreezoMeter now seeks to leverage real-time environmental reporting and health-focused insights to improve the lives of millions and enable better health outcomes on an individual and global scale[21].

BreezoMeter applies its health and wellness focus to product goals and organizational culture. It prioritizes recruiting employees passionate about social responsibility topics, especially in regard to the environment and public health.[22]
