Brian George Walton Jr. (born October 8, 1964 in Duarte, California) is an American Country, Rock and Blues instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and performer.

Walton is a member of the Songwriters Guild of America and ASCAP (Member ID: 1735239).

Early life[edit]

Walton was born in Duarte, California to Brian George Walton, an automobile mechanic and Virginia Ann Walton (maiden name Hess).

In 1981, Walton moved to New York City to attend Juilliard.

Walton served in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1986.

1990 to 2000[edit]

Walton played the European USO circuit with his Band 'Bakersfield' from 1991 to 1996 backing artists: Willie Nelson, Johnny Paycheck, The Bellamy Brothers, John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, David Allen Coe, Alison Krauss, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard.

The album 'Made in the Shade' was first recorded in 1991 at Tonstudio Pauly in Giessen, Germany.

Walton performed with the East German Country Band 'West End' from 1997 to 1999.

2000 and later[edit]

Blue Rhino Records was founded in 2001 by Walton and Mark Papadakis.

'Made in the Shade Live!' was recorded during the 2001 Live tour.

The album "What the Hell" was released on August 6, 2015 (distributed by Sony Music) and is a compilation of single tracks Walton has released since 2002.

The album "Made in the Shade (25th Anniversary)" was released on April 15, 2019 (distributed by Sony Music) and features digitally remastered tracks from the original "Made in the Shade" Album with bonus tracks 'I Love my Truck', 'Watch that Girl Go', 'Wear them Blues', 'Fly Higher' and the previously unreleased 'From the Road Again'.
