Brielle Daniele Edborg (born June 19, 1995), also known by her stage name Brielle,[1] is an American singer and songwriter.[2] Born and raised in upstate New York, she began singing and dancing at age 2 and playing violin and studying classical ballet by age 5.[3] Throughout her early life she performed in acting and singing groups and local community theater. She graduated from Jamestown High School Class of 2013 where she lettered in track in the high jump.[4]
At age 15 was signed to independent record label AGP Records.[5] At the age of 16 licensed 6 songs to MTV's reality show, Snooki & JWoww.[5] Her song "Unstoppable" was nominated in the 2012 12th Annual Independent Music Awards[6] and later that year she sang the National Anthem at the Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular on NBC. In late 2013 she released a video "Catch A Star For You" which was picked up by retail video pools and TV outlets, such as MTV, VH1, and Much Music, across the US and Canada.[7][8][9]
In the spring of 2014 she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for fashion design and became a student editor, writing six columns for the fashion trade publication Fashion United.[10] Her first column, "Life As a Freshman in NYC",[11] became the most read column of the year.[12]
In the summer of 2014 she released a single followed shortly by the video, "Avalanche"[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21] on AGP Records, where it climbed to number 4 on Billboard's Hot Single Sales for 8 consecutive weeks. That fall, she performed the song at 2014 Couture Fashion Week NYC and was a guest celebrity with Modiste at Rolando Santana's Spring 2015 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NY 2014.[22][23][24] Soon after she was featured on the front cover and editorial of Music Is Now magazine.[25] On New Year's Eve 2014 she performed with Music Hall of Famer Grandmaster Melle Mel at The Leonora, NYC[26]
In February 2015 she attended the 57th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and in the same month opened the Syracuse Crunch Hockey game with "America the Beautiful" and debuted her recently released song, "Thin Ice".[27][28] In April 2015 she sang the national anthem at the NIT 2015 NCAA Championship Basketball Game at Madison Square Garden and released the song, "ROCKET" on April 24, 2015.[29][30] The song spent 7 weeks in the top 10 in Billboard's Hot Singles Sales.[30] On July 1, 2015, she sang the national anthem at Citi Field for the New York Mets. She released her fourth single, "Want Your Love", on July 13, 2015.[31] Her fifth single and video, "Rock The Catwalk", was released in August 2015.[32] On April 17, 2016, her single "Rocket" won Honorable Mention for the 2015 International Song Writing Competition in both Top 40/Pop and Unsigned Only categories[33] In May 2016 Brielle performed in her first acting role in the movie Black Wake starring Eric Roberts and Tom Sizemore.[34][35]
