Butt (Urdu: بٹ) is a pakistani muslim surname.[1] [2] They are punjabi muslims who trace their ancestary to the muslims of kashmir valley. People belonging to Butt surname predominantly live in central and northern punjab along G.T. Road cities such as Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jehlum, Rawalpindi etc. Pakistani family name Butt is distinct and should not be confused with european surname "Butt" or indian surnames "Bhat" or "Bhatt".
