CONCLUSE is a 2018 first-person psychological horror game developed by T. Allen Studios and published by Studio Snowspot based off of a YouTube video series of the same name depicting a "rare" PS1 horror game. The game is a playable form of the first third of the video series, however it includes many new areas that didn't exist within that series previously. Taking inspiration from Silent Hill, the game places the player in control of Michael Benson as he searches for his wife Carolyn three years after her mysterious disappearance. Much of the game is spent exploring a semi-open world environment looking for key items to use elsewhere in order to progress with the occasional puzzle or threat, but is broken up with a few dozen PS1-era computer generated cutscenes from the original YouTube series.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
After arriving to the fictitious town of Hell, the player progresses through the story by solving a large variety of puzzles in order to reach the next area of the town, such as the hospital, park, or sewers. Upon reaching certain spots in each map, cutscenes from the original video series created by animator Jon Martin will play.
Throughout the game the player will also find quarters around the map, which they can then use at specific payphones in each area. When the player puts a quarter into the payphone, they get an option to either call their friend at home, their Mother, or their missing wife Carolyn. At any point in the game the player can call whichever person they choose, but they will develop more background plot threads based on who they decide to spend more time talking to. [2]
