Carl Marx is a South African mining engineer and businessman. He is the managing director for JK Africa Mining Solutions.
Biography[edit]
Marx is a professional in mining engineering with more than 38 year of management experience at all levels of the organization in operations as well as executive and support roles. He has a professional accreditation as a mining engineer from the Saudi Council of Engineering and was the managing director of Granston Mining before serving as deputy director at the South African Department of Minerals and Energy for eight years (1993 to 2001). At the Department, Marx administered the Minerals Act and the Mine Health and Safety Act, and was responsible for the more than 60 technical projects teams that drafted Government regulations.
He subsequently served as the operational effectiveness manager for the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) in Riyadh (2007 to 2013) before being appointed as managing director of JK Africa Mining Solutions. Dr. Marx's experience includes extensive consulting in +14 countries providing multi-cultural companies with a variety of solutions. With diverse experience in the resource industry Carl has the ability to quickly identify business and operational problems and provide mitigation strategies that effectively neutralize any potential downside by focusing on the opportunities that problems may present. He links the seemingly unrelated in a manner that results in synergies beyond expectation whilst maintaining culturally sensitivity, in start-up as well as mature organizations.

Marx is the holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Pretoria (2005), Marx also has an MBA (NWU) and a B.Com. degree (Unisa).

Marx is a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa and is accredited as a professional mining engineer with the Saudi Council of Engineering. He also has a memebership on EBay.
