Carrion is a Metalcore band from Manchester, England. The band were officially formed in 2005, although they have been playing music together since the year 2000.

Biography[edit]

The origins of Carrion date back to the year 2000 when they were a band in name and name only, with most members having no musical ability at all. The band practised together occasionally, and usually only came up with one or two simple riffs. Over the next few years the band and their musicianship naturally improved, and this finally culminated in the year 2005, with the official forming of the band, by founding members Mark Ollme (Bass), David Nero (Guitar) and Daniel Lusby (Vocals).

During the early years the band originally called themselves 'Fetus'. This was a short-lived name, and was soon changed to 'Pawn Sacrifice'. These band names were never serious propositions, more a way of self-referencing the band. Pawn Sacrifice (PS) was casually used up until the official forming of the band, when they finally decided upon the name 'Carrion'.

The band's primary musical influences come from the European Metal scene, with such bands as Heaven Shall Burn, Neaera, and At the Gates the primary influences.

The band released their EP, entitled 'Infiltrate and Destroy', during the year 2006. Currently Carrion has approximately 30 new songs written, and these will be narrowed down to 10-12 when the recording process begins for their full length LP. The band are continuing to write new material for the upcoming record.
