Casa de Colores is a grassroots advocacy and direct-action organization, shelter, and network that works with transgender migrant refugees seeking asylum the United States. They provide resources, temporary housing, and immigration services to cross the United States - Mexico border (from Juarez, Mexico into El Paso, Texas).[1] Originally formed in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Casa de Colores is a humanitarian, direct-action group based in El Paso, Texas that works with LGBTQIA+ migrant refugees, and migrants with HIV+ and AIDS with stipends and resources for clothing, food, clean water, shelter, transportation, and communication (cell phones and telecommunication services), legal aid, social workers on call and medical needs.[2]

Casa de Colores was founded by Susana Coreas, a transgender migrant refugee originally from El Salvador. [3] Due to the threat of violence in El Salvador,[4] Susana Coreas traveled with an LGBTQIA+ migration caravan to Mexico in order to seek political asylum in the United States. Susana was then granted a waiver to cross the United States - Mexican border.[5] Currently, Casa de Colores is operating in New York City, New York and in El Paso, Texas.
