The Chicago International Model United Nations (CIMUN) conference is an annual four-day event for high school Model United Nations students. It is held at the Hilton Chicago hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois in February.
CIMUN began in 2004 as a project of the Model United Nations Development Organization (MUNDO). In its first year, the conference was attended by approximately 150 student delegates. Over the years it has continued to grow, becoming the largest Model UN program in the Midwest. It is the flagship conference of MUNDO, and attracted over 1,300 student delegates as of Dec 2019.[1] The conference is a fully integrated simulation experience, meaning that decisions in one committee can and will affect multiple other committees.[2] This method encourages delegates to cooperate and work across different forums, creating an extra level of realism during the simulation.
