Childs Farm is a natural infant and child toiletry manufacturer based in the United Kingdom.[2][3] The company also produces an animation series on Cartoonito, a pre-school television channel owned by Turner Media broadcast in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Malta.[3][4] Joanna Jensen founded Childs Farm in 2010 and serves as the company’s CEO.[5]
History
Joanna Jensen founded Childs Farm in 2010, after she struggled to find suitable products for her two daughters who have sensitive skin and fine flyaway hair.[6][7] Jensen launched a line of products that used natural ingredients and organic essential oils in November 2011.[6] Childs Farm’s products received awards from LovedByParents in 2013 and 2014.[8][9]
In October 2014, Childs Farm launched its nappy cream for happy bottoms.[10] The following month, Junior Magazine named Childs Farm "Best Children’s Toiletries."[2] The Irish National Parenting Product Awards included Childs Farm in its list of "Baby Bath Time Winners," that year.[11] In 2014, the company launched three products in Waitrose, a British supermarket chain, and seven products in Boots UK, a pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom.[5][12]
In February 2015, Childs Farm sponsored the ‘Most Improved Participant’ category at the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Gala Awards.[13] The company donates 10 percent of its proceeds to the Riding for the Disabled Association.[13][14]
Operations
The company’s products are sold in supermarkets, department stores and pharmacies in the United Kingdom including Boots and Waitrose.[5] Additionally, products are used as amenities in hotels such as the Chewton Glen Hotel.[7] Each product undergoes clinical testing and controlled user trials.[15] In a 2014 user trial of 103 babies with eczema, 98 percent of their parents said they would recommend Childs Farm products to their friends.[6]
Description
Childs Farm manufactures natural skincare and hair products for infants and children.[2][16] It produces the only natural products suitable for children prone to eczema approved by dermatologists and pediatricians.[6][17] The products packaging displays the Great British countryside, the animals on Jensen’s farm and Jensen’s daughters and their cousins.[3][2] Emma McCall, a children’s illustrator, created the images of each character.[7] The characters on the packaging are featured on the Childs Farm cartoon broadcast on Cartoonito.[4]
