Chris Mitchell also known as "Mitch" (born June 17, 1972) was an American musician, specializing on the Keys. He achieved attention with The John Spignesi Band for which he was a founding member.
Career With The John Spignesi Band[edit]
John Spignesi Band (JSB) was formed in 2015 by Spignesi, Alling, & Mitchell. Spignesi & Mitchell already had years of experience playing together at Open Mic Nights. A virtuoso musician, Mitchell agreed to play Keys for the band, citing iconic musicians Mark Mercier, Brent Mydland, & Melvin Seals as his main influences. Throughout his tenure with the band, Mitch played Keys, Harmonica, and sang backing vocals in JSB. He performed on every studio and live recording from 2015-2020.
Dismissal And Struggles (2020-2021)[edit]
Mitchell struggled with addiction most of his life. The band attempted to enter him into a rehabilitation center in late 2020. Mitch’s last show with JSB was on October 1, 2020 in Branford, CT.
Death (2022)[edit]
Mitchell died on November 4, 2022.
