Cloud 9 (rpg)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Cloud 9 is a role-playing game based on The Umbrella Academy (TV series). It is set in England in February 2019 and follows the remaining members of the Cloud 9 through their travels.

Prologue[edit]

On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Nine such children were gathered under the auspices of the Government department known as the Section (soon to become more widely known as the Spookshow). Raised in Scotland at the Glen College the children are tutored by the stern Miss Trunchbull, where their powers are strenuously bloomed and they undertake a harsh, almost military upbringing in the wake of the draw down from the Cold War, and the new challenges following that in the Gulf. Overseen by the rarely present Mr Harcourt and Mr Pendleton the project is now termed Cloud 9. The events of ‘9/11’ in 2001 see demands made upon the pair, and against their better judgement the most promising of the children are revealed to the public, Peter, Ed, and Eustace. Making an immediate splash the three lads are darlings of the media, feted as celebrities, release a hit single, appear regularly on Saturday Wow, and the Smash Hits cover story regarding the ‘Fun Boy Three’ is the highest selling UK periodical world wide. A number of staged interventions by the Fun Boy Three only raise their profile, until on the 7th July 2005 the Fun Boy Three vanish. Two years later Wikileaks releases parts of the footage (shot as part of what was to have been another staged event) showing the brutal deaths of the Fun Boy Three at the hands of another, previously unknown gifted young man. The footage ends with the masked figure declaring that he is Jedekiah, and that the world now belongs to the ‘Tomorrow People’. The remaining, more-widely unknown members of Cloud 9 react in different ways to the deaths of Fun Boy Three, but for the most part the Spookshow loses what remains of its already waning dominion over six the young adults.

In February 2019 one of the remaining six, Sparrow (now Member of Parliament for East Cheam) convinces, forces, or tricks the other five survivors of Cloud 9 to gather. For she has dire news.
