Comparisonator is a Turkish football company supporting clubs and player agencies around the world for their scouting and team-building process[6][7]. Comparisonator offers football data analysis software for their customers; they also publish significant intelligence that they derive under Football Data News for the general public and news agencies worldwide[8].
The company was founded in Kuzguncuk, Istanbul in 2018 by Turkish-Australian scouting expert Tarkan Batgün[4][9], Umut Baran Zorlu and Furkan Yağız.
History
The idea of the Comparisonator and the data-driven scouting methodology it employs was originally developed by Tarkan Batgün when he was the Scouting Director of Bursaspor in 2014 bringing the club a total revenue of over 25 million Euros[4].
With this initiative and after the termination of his project at Bursaspor, he and his partners, a group of students from Boğaziçi University, founded Comparisonator inside gutobizLAB in 2018[4][2].
Comparisonator made its first sale to Beşiktaş J.K. in 2019[5], later incorporated as a separate company on July 2020[9].
Software and services
Comparisonator provides tools for football scouting, player transfers and performance analysis[7][2]. Comparisonator offers consulting services and certification programmes for becoming a data scout. Comparisonator's products are taught on international football scouting courses[10][11]
Comparisonator Platform
Comparisonator Platform is a web-based application for analysing football players' & clubs' performance. It is capable of filtering out players, ranking them in different parameters, finding similar players and illustrating possible performance in a designated league with the help of artificial intelligence. Comparisonator Platform was first launched on December 2019.
Comparisonator Mobile
The company launched Comparisonator Mobile on October 2022 as a replacement for their desktop software on mobile and tablets.
Football Artificial Intelligence
Comparisonator's data science team led by Dr Eren Unlu works on topics such as player performance assessment, player similarity, and real market valuation[6][12]
Football Data News
Comparisonator disseminates significant stats derived from their data under the name Football Data News. This feed is being published by news agencies and newspapers such as Demirören News Agency, Anadolu Agency, Diario AS, MARCA, Manchester Evening News and Liverpool Echo.[8]

Comparisonator products are used by football clubs, player agencies and media. Customers include Fortuna Sittard[13], FC Dallas[7], New England Revolution, RC Celta de Vigo and Beşiktaş JK.
