Costantino Carrara (born April 18, 1997) is an Italian pianist and composer. He is known for his piano arrangements of popular hits uploaded on YouTube and for his music project called WildPianos, which aims to bring acoustic pianos into nature.[2] His most viewed video of all time is his arrangement of "Let Her Go" by Passenger.

Life[edit]

Costantino Carrara started playing piano through a keyboard received as a gift from his grandparents. At the age of 12, he starts taking piano lessons and in the same year he opens his YouTube channel, uploading his first music performances. Even though he has a classical background, he found his main inspiration in pop and jazz music, and he continues his studies at Conservatorio Niccolò Piccinni where he graduated with honors in 2020.[3]

Career[edit]

The arrangements of Costantino Carrara have been acclaimed by Coldplay in 2016 when Chris Martin retweeted his video of "Adventure Of A Lifetime".[4]

In 2016 Costantino Carrara set up a crowdfunding campaign for his WildPianos project, which proposes to bring piano music in nature. In the same year, the music brand Yamaha joined the project. Carrara shot the first video of the series in the Apulian inland.[5] In 2019 he flew his grand piano to Iceland to shoot two videos placing the grand piano in a canyon and on a fjord. Both videos hit 1+ million views on YouTube.[6] In 2019 he held a music tour in China, playing seven shows all around the country.[7]
