Cristóbal Cabral de Melo Alpoim 1592-16? was an South American military, government official in Río de la Plata.
Biography[edit]
Cristóbal Cabral de Melo Alpoim was born in Santa Maria Island, Azores. He arrived in Buenos Aires together with his parents and brothers in the year 1598. He was the son of Amador Báez de Alpoim and Margarita Cabral de Melo,[2] both of noble families. Cristóbal married in Buenos Aires to Maria Carabajal de Salas daughter of Gonzalo Carabajal and Maria de Salas.[3]
Cristóbal, as all the Alpoim family, were devoted to the breeding of cattle and living in the village of Monte Grande, Buenos Aires and Corrientes. The Alpoim brothers also were devoted to government activities, Cristóbal was Elected Regidor and Captain of Horses in Province of Buenos Aires.[1]
