Career

DJ and Performance (1982–2016)

Anderson began his career as a DJ in 1982 in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Over three decades, he performed across North America, Asia, and Australia, sharing stages with artists such as Heavy D and KRS-One. Between 2008 and 2016, Anderson became a prominent figure in the "controllerist" circuit, winning multiple "DJ of the Year" accolades from organizations such as Upstairs Records and the Seattle Sound Music Awards.

Music Production and Big Boss Beatz (2017–Present)

In 2017, Anderson retired from active DJing to focus on music production under the alias Big Boss Beatz. He specialized in sample-based boom-bap, drawing influence from the "Golden Era" of hip-hop. Anderson has produced over 900 tracks and collaborated with artists including Havoc (Mobb Deep), Hell Razah, and Dungeon Masta. In 2018, he scored the award-winning short film Cracked, directed by Lin Que Ayoung.

Affiliations

Anderson is a member of the Wu-Tang Worldwide DJ Coalition and is affiliated with several Wu-Tang Clan-adjacent collectives, including Ghetto Government Officials (GGO) and the Northwest-based producer collective Filthy Fingers United (FFU).
