Daanpatra is an Indian non-profit organisation platform based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.[1][2] On behalf of this organisation, people are being helped by providing ration, clothes and other items to the helpless and needy families every day. This platform was started on 10 March 2018.[3][4] With the help of the members, this organisation collects unusable items from homes and makes them usable, distributing the goods to the needy people free of cost.[5][6] This voluntary association has been registered in the India Book of Records two times.[7][8]
Location
Daanpatra was started in Kanchanpur village of Gaya district of Bihar, where seven members are together giving education to poor children. Until yesterday, the children who used to beg are now learning A,B,C,D, and at the same time clothes, ration and books are also being given to the children. In a few months, more than 500 children and women are getting education.[9] Similarly, service work has been done in the cities of Bhopal, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Mathura and Surat. The organisation is soon working on a plan to start service work all over India as well as in other countries.[10]
Campaigns
Mission 1 lakh 51 thousand was completed by the Daanpatra team on the occasion of Independence Day 2021. On the occasion of Independence Day and to provide assistance to the families affected by the corona pandemic, more than 7 thousand volunteers of the organisation reached out to slum-dwelling families at slum places in Indore to provide clothes, ration, toys, etc. to about 1.5 lakh needy families. Help was provided with books, shoes and other household items.[11]
In Diwali 2021, Mission completed by 2 lakh 51 thousand team. With the aim of providing assistance to the families affected by Diwali and the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 5 thousand volunteers of the organisation helped by delivering essential items to about 2.5 lakh needy families in a single day. Which recorded Daanpatra's name in the India book of record. During the COVID-19 situation, a mission was kept through the charity organisation in which ration kits were also distributed among more than 50 thousand families.[12]
