Anthony Macci Jezzx (August 13, 2002 – June 6, 2022), known professionally as Dadiboytellem, was a Nigerian-American rapper.
Early Life
Anthony was born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn and Lagos, Nigeria. He began his musical career in 2014 with his debut single Dead soule. He rose to fame with the release of Dash-Yippy ft Lil Uxirfa in 2017.[1][2][3]
Anthony, born in 2002, moved to Nigeria in 2007, and then back to New York in 2013. Anthony spoke the Yoruba language despite being an American; he learned it from his mother, a Lagosian. His parents divorced when he was 15 years old, and his father died a year after the divorce, leaving his mother to raise him as a single mother alongside his siblings. Anthony's mother was very religious and did not allow any of her children to listen to secular music. While growing up, he stated that his mother would beat him when he played hip hop music. He grew up listening to 2Pac, Biggie, Lil Wayne, Future, Snoop Dogg and many others who are legends.
In 2020, Anthony's mother died of heart failure. After that, Anthony and his siblings were frustrated about life because they lacked food and other necessities. Anthony became a heavy drug user. He began drinking lean and committing all kinds of crimes just to survive. He smoked cigarettes, and stealing and burglary were his occupations.
Career
He started his musical career as a drummer in 2014. When Macci was ten years old, he catered to his interest in music by rapping with his friends in school. They would make music with each other. He met Lil Uxirfa on the internet, on social media Instagram, and they both started making freestyles and sending them to each other. They grew to become friends, and DadiBoy had to come over to Nigeria to see him.
They both started making music and posting it on SoundCloud, his first song Locist gained over 2,000 streams on SoundCloud. That motivated Anthony to do more.
Great helped Anthony get started at a recording studio based in Asaba. They began working with Askio, DJ China and others and recorded songs. Anthony eventually signed a record deal with Ugly-Ful Records and Ubel Records in 2018.
On May 5, 2019, he released his debut mixtape, Scarred, with the lead single "Scared", which received more than 200 thousand views on SoundCloud within several months and more than 5 thousand on Deezer. Anthony was included on RichBoy’s album, on the song "Rich Man". In July 2019, he released his second mixtape, My Times. The album debuted at number 4 on the Kashroll. Later that month, he released a collaboration EP with Great, Sucked from Hell.
On December 4, 2019, he released the single "From The Trenches", featuring Lil Uxirfa. He also released the song "MadMax" on his SoundCloud account, which features MissaKey and was produced by DJ China. He also released "Big choppa" alongside Jacxv and Jacy.
