David Okit, from his real name David Okitakula, born on Brussels, is a Belgian-born Congolese evangelical Christian gospel and hip-hop singer and songwriter.[1][2][3][4]
November 23, 2000 inChildhood and education[edit]
Born to divorced parents,[2] David Okitakula was born on November 23, 2000 in Brussels,[5] Belgium. At the age of 8, he left Belgium and moved to Kinshasa. David started rapping at the age of 9. At the age of 16, he returned to Europe, to Amiens in France,[2] to finish his studies and obtain his diploma.
Career[edit]
In 2018, he was spotted on Twitter as well as on the Instagram account 1minute2rap and signed to the label Polydor Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music France.[6] In November 2018, at the age of 18, he released his first track, and was invited to the Planète Rap of Bigflo & Oli on Skyrock.[7][8]
In 2020, David decides to change musical genre and tend his music towards gospel.[1]
