Characterization[edit]
Daya is a Gujarati woman born and brought up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She has a brother named Sundarlal.[3] She is the wife of Jethalal Gada and resides in Gokuldhaam Society located in Goregaon East, Mumbai. Daya typically wears Gujarati saris and has traditional ideologies. She is a dedicated homemaker, fond of cooking, and recognized for her culinary skills. Daya is also referred to as the Garba queen for her love of playing garba, a traditional dance of Gujarat. She is religious, superstitious, and worships Maata Ji. Daya is known for her unique comic timing with Jethalal, which is one of the chief reasons for the popularity of the show.[4]
