Delicious as Parting Dreams (originally شهيا كفراق, Arabic) is an Arabic novel written by Algerian author Ahlam Mosteghanemi and first published in 2018, then again in 2019 by Hachette-Antoine - Naufal, who currently sells the book.

Synopsis
The book is divided into five parts, the first two are autobiographical where, for the first time, Mosteghanemi writes about her life and memories as a writer, a daughter, a mother, and a human being. She recounts her experiences with her contemporaries like Ghazi Al Gosaibi, Nizar Qabbani, and Suhayl Idris, and her relationship with her family.[1] She also writes about her characters from previous books, her attachment to them, the emotions that come with parting with them upon completing a book, and her meeting them again from time to time in her writing.[1] Throughout the book, the author relates her life to the lives of other famous writers using quotes to succinctly tie together her ideas.[1]
In the third part of the book, Mosteghanemi writes letters to one of her characters Camila from her book The Art of Forgetting (Arabic: com.نسيان).[2]
In part four she recalls a life-changing encounter with one of her followers on Facebook.[2]
Finally, in part five, she continues her story with Camila.[2]
Mosteghanemi covers topics from the creative process, to love, to loss, to life in the digital age, to war, refuge, and nationalism.[2]
