From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Denise Humphreys is an Italian singer-songwriter best known for co-writing and performing the track 'Maledetto Rock' with punk band Uniplux. She currently writes and performs with London-based group Delta Unit.

History

Denise was lead vocalist in the second line-up of Roman punk band Uniplux between the years 1983 and 1984, co-writing and performing Maledetto Rock with guitarist Fabio Nardelli. Commissioned as the title song for a documentary series about Italian music for RAI TV, the track was later released as a single on Pogo Records. Denise appears with Uniplux in the opening sequence for the series, which also features notable Italian artists Jo Squillo and Gaznevada. The programme was directed by music critic Dario Salvatori and broadcast nationally across Italy in 1984.

Relocating to the UK in 1988, Humphreys has been active on the London underground music scene since 2009 with her band Delta Unit, which features Armando Cotugno on bass, a member and co-founder of the group 24 Grana. Delta Unit collaborated with British musicians Ian Charnochan Milroy (Knox) of The Vibrators and guitarist Jon Klein of Siouxsie and the Banshees on their debut album, which was produced by David M. Allen (The Cure, The Mission, Sisters of Mercy, The Charlatans).
