Dianne Jacob is an American elected official in San Diego, California. She has served as a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors since 1992, and represents County Supervisorial District 2. She is a Republican,[1] although county supervisor positions are officially nonpartisan per California state law.

As a kid, Jacob's eyes were badly crossed and she had to wear thick glasses and a patch over one eye.[2]

She became a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors in 1992, and is one of the longest-serving members.

In early 2017, Jacob announced a push to cut pension costs to save money in the state budget and work on California's roads.[3] She came under fire because just weeks before, the board had voted to boost their pensions and raise their individual salaries by $19,000 a year each.[3]

Jacob has said she supports joining a Trump Administration lawsuit against California regarding sanctuary laws, and is in favor of the administration's plan to ask all residents about citizenship during the census.[4][5][6]
