ECOUNT ERP is a cloud-based ERP software developed by ECOUNT Co., Ltd., a South Korean software company. The software was first released in 1999 and is primarily used by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).[1][2][3]
ECOUNT ERP provides integrated modules for inventory, production, accounting, sales, purchasing, human resources and payroll in a single system.[4][5]
The system is accessible via web browsers without requiring software installation.[6][7]
History
ECOUNT was first released in 1999.[6] It was founded by Shin-rae Kim.[8] As of 2007, it was also considered the only SaaS ERP service in Korea.[9]
ECOUNT ERP was selected as one of the Best ASP Services in Korea by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (now known as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) in 2008.[10]
In 2009, ECOUNT ERP began providing multilingual services in Chinese, English, and Vietnamese.[11] Two years later, ECOUNT began recruiting local resellers in order to reach overseas markets.[11]
ECOUNT established its third overseas office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2014.[12]
ECOUNT introduced ECOUNT Webmail as part of its ERP platform in 2015.[13]
ECOUNT established a local subsidiary in Taiwan in 2016.[14] It was the company’s fifth overseas subsidiary after previously establishing offices in Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Guangzhou.[14]
ECOUNT established another local subsidiary in Malaysia in 2017.[15]
KB Kookmin Bank signed an agreement with ECOUNT to integrate its finance services with ECOUNT’s business management ERP software for small and medium-sized businesses in 2019.[1] As of January 2026, ECOUNT is being used by more than 80,000 companies in over 60 countries.[5][16]
As of 2026, ECOUNT operates nine global offices in Seoul, South Korea; Shanghai, China; Taipei, Taiwan; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Bangkok, Thailand, Manila, the Philippines[17][16] and Tashkent, Uzbekistan.[17][16]
ECOUNT ERP performs functions such as inventory, production, accounting, and payroll, and also serves as a collaboration tool with groupware functionality for enterprise collaborations.[18][16] ECOUNT’s inventory management system is web-based and syncs inventory changes from business activities such as sales, purchasing, and production.[19] It also allows inventory to be managed using barcodes.[19]
