From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

easyfundraising.org.uk, launched in 2005, is a charity cashback website, allowing users to raise money as they shop online[1]. The for-profit business employs over 50 people, in their Lichfield-based office.[2][3]

It works in a similar way to Quidco, taking commission (termed "cashback") usually paid by retailers to third-party referrers and passes it on to supporters, allowing them to raise money for a non-profit organisation while shopping online at retailers such as Marks and Spencer, Amazon, Tesco, T-Mobile.[4]

Timeline[edit]

The idea came about for the site when founder Ian Woodroffe, a former telecoms account manager from Walsall, was recovering from cancer. By 2013, easyfundraising had raised over £5 million for charities since it's launch.[5]

In 2013, easyfundraising.org.uk announced the purchase of rival site Spend and Raise, formerly owned by Affiliate Window, Spend and Raise was established over 10 years (previously known as "buy.at webshops", changing its name in 2011).[6]

By 2015, the platform had helped to raise over £10 million for more than 65,000 community groups, schools, sports clubs, small and large charities across the UK.[7][8][9]
