Emcy Joseph (born 2 April 1975) is an Indian film director and screenwriter who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. The acclaimed movie, Vikruthi[1] (2019) is his debut movie starring Suraj Venjaramoodu[2] and Soubin Shahir.

His upcoming movie is Ennittu Avasanam[3] featuring Anna Ben, Arjun Ashokan and Madhoobhala[4]. He has also directed around hundreds of ad-films for national as well as international brands. He is the founder of Peraka Media, an advertising and content production house in Cochin.

Early life

Emcy Joseph[5] was born to M.V Cleetus & Mary in Fort-Kochi, Ernakulam district of Kerala. He did his schooling at St. Sebastian's Higher Secondary School, Kochi. He did his graduation in Physics from Aquinas College and Cochin College, Kochi.

Career

Emcy started his career in satellite media and continued his endeavor in the advertising industry as a creative director. He worked as creative director at Britellite- Vinverth Group, Dubai Media City. Later he started his own company, Peraka Media (2013) in Kochi. By 2019, his debut movie Vikruthi[6] was released, marking his first step in the film industry.

Filmmaking

He is a filmmaker largely inspired by real-life incidents. His movie, Vikruthi is also inspired by a true event that happened in Kochi Metro.
