Fahmy Foundation
The Fahmy Foundation for free press is a non-profit organization based in Canada.[1] It works for freedom of the press and tries to help journalists who are in prison.

Journalist Mohamed Fahmy started the group with his fiancee Marwa Omara in 2015.[2] Their first case was Mahmoud Abou Zeid, known as "Shawkan", a photojournalist who is in prison in Egypt.[2] the Fahmi Foundation also tried to help American journalist Jason Rezaian in Iran, Ahmed Ziada in Egypt, and Mohamed Al-Ajami, a Qatari poet.[3] Jason Rezaian was free in January 2016.[4]
