Matthew Feinberg (born 18 October 2002)[1], better known as Feinberg is an American[2] Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and Minecraft speedrunner. He is best known for his live streams on Twitch, broadcasting video game content, most notably in Minecraft.

Career[edit]

Twitch streaming[edit]

Feinberg created his Twitch account in December 2012. He began streaming in November 2016.[3] He began streaming Minecraft speedruns in October 2020. The name Feinberg is based on his surname of the same name.

He gained 43,000 followers on Twitch in 2021 and was granted access to the Twitch Partner Program.[4]

Feinberg was signed to the Esports organisation Method in June 2021.[5]

YouTube[edit]

In addition to streaming on the Twitch platform, Feinberg also has two YouTube channels: Feinberg, and Feinberg Sucks. The Feinberg channel features edited speedrunning content and stream highlights. The Feinberg Sucks channel features unedited speedruns, full VOD clips from his Twitch channel, and notable speedruns.

Feinberg is also a member of House Builder Gang, a collaborative group of Minecraft speedrunners and content creators.[6]

Minecraft speedrunning[edit]

Feinberg first recalls playing Minecraft on his 2012 Macbook. Before speedrunning, Feinberg would find himself getting involved in competitive Minecraft in the form of Hypixel minigames, Survival Games, UHC, and PVP.[7]

In an interview with YouTuber pikaJ, Feinberg recalls the first Minecraft run he submitted to the speedrun.com leaderboards being a 47 minute run in the Any% Glitchless - Random Seed, 1.16+ category that would end up getting rejected by moderators for using the banned game modification Optifine. Feinberg's first verified Minecraft speedrun is a 37:02 run in the Any% Glitchless - Random Seed, 1.16+ category on October 1, 2020.[8]

In the span of one month, Feinberg would climb up the Minecraft: Java Edition leaderboards with his 3rd place run of 17:31 in the 1.16+ Any% Glitchless - Random Seed, 1.16+ category on October 29, 2020.[9]

On February 15, 2021, Feinberg would claim the world record in the Any% Glitchless - Set Seed, 1.16+ category of 2:20.[10]

On July 14, 2021, Feinberg would submit his first attempt in the All Advancements - 1.16, RSG category of 7:51:12.[11] Feinberg would later go on to hold the world record in the All Advancements - 1.16, RSG category 17 consecutive times, notibly achieving the first sub 3 hour run in the category.[12]

Personal life[edit]

Feinberg was born in America on 18 October 2002. Feinberg attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studied electrical engineering, and participated in the What-If Hypothetical Implementations in Minecraft (WHIMC) research project.[13] He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
