Frederick W. Penney (aka Fred Penney or Fred Penny) was born in 1963, growing up in the Northern California town of Penryn through the 1970s. Penney would go on to become a prominent personal injury lawyer in the state of his birth, admitted to the California State Bar in 1992. In that same year, he established his own law firm, which is now known as Penney & Associates Injury Lawyers. Frederick Penney continues to practice personal injury law as managing partner of his firm, overseeing its day-to-day operations while also expanding his outreach through philanthropy, writing, and talk radio. He is currently a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, and a SuperLawyer-rated attorney. Additionally, he is a current member of both the Washington D.C. bar, and the United States Supreme Court bar.

Attending Brigham Young University in 1988, Frederick Penney received a B.A. in Philosophy. He then attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School, earning his J.D. degree in 1991. He authored numerous personal injury law articles during this time.

Following his admission to the California State Bar in 1992, Frederick Penney worked briefly for a nationwide personal injury firm. Many of the attorneys at the firm are former insurance company trial lawyers, which offers the legal team unique insight into the tactics used by the insurance industry to contest claims and limit insurance payments.

In the years following its establishment in Roseville, California, Penney & Associates has expanded to offices throughout the state. The firm serves clients in Sacramento, Rocklin, Irvine, Roseville, Santa Clara, Chico, with satellite offices in Fairfield, San Francisco, Fresno, Stockton, Sunnyvale, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, San Diego, and other major cities.

Legionnaires’ Disease Case Expertise[edit]

Frederick Penney and his firm were prominently featured in news coverage of a Legionnaires’ Disease case in California. A baby recovering from a bone marrow transplant to treat a rare genetic disorder at Benioff Children’s Hospital suddenly grew ill and died only days after their procedure. Testing revealed that the baby had contracted Legionnaires’ Disease during their hospital stay. Officials at the facility claimed they had followed all reasonable safety procedures.

This is one of thousands of cases Penney & Associates has successfully handled. The hospital ultimately settled out of court for a substantial amount of money.
