Funan No.1 Middle School, full name Funan County No.1 Middle School in Anhui Province, located in the territory of Funan County, Anhui Province, China.[1], founded in the spring of 1951. In the fall of 2017, the school moved its campus from the original site on Huaihe East Road, Funan County to the north of Yongquan Road in Chengbei New District, Funan County. The original campus now opens for Funan No.1 Junior High School (South Campus), Funan County No. 5 Junior High School and Yuquan Primary School.

School History

In 1950, Funan County was formally established. On May 13, 1951, the Funan County Private Junior Middle School was established, with the county magistrate Tang Liquan concurrently serving as the principal. On October 10, 1951, the school was renamed "Funan Junior Middle School" and officially transferred to the public sector.[2]

In 1958, the school was renamed "Funan Middle School" and became a complete middle school. It enrolled four classes of high schools.[3].

In 1979, the school was renamed "Funan No. 1 Middle School in Anhui Province". In 1982, the high school department of the school changed the two-year system to the three-year system.

In 1993, the construction of the Yifu Building, invested by Mr. Sir Run Run Shaw from Hong Kong was started, and the school was renamed "Funan Yifu No. 1 Middle School in Anhui Province". In 1995, the school was renamed "The First Complete Middle School in Funan County, Anhui Province".

In 2000, the school stopped teaching junior school students; it opened only for upper secondary school students. In 2015, the construction of its new campus began. In 2017, the campus moved to the current location.
