Furnace Party Incident (Fairmont)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Furnace Party Incident refers to a letter which was circulated around the Fairmount, Philadelphia neighborhood on February 19, 2019. The letter told residents that all food they had eaten since birth "is still alive in you," and it advised all residents to be made into a statue on Girard Avenue on April 27, 2019. The letter was written by a man named Milton Jackson [1]. The letter is considered an example of the viral phenomenon.

Overview[edit]

Residents of Fairmount and Brewerytown, neighborhoods in Philadelphia, PA, found anonymous letters in their mailboxes, which have been described as "creepy" and "incoherent rambling."[2] The letter begins with the opening "ABBA," and claims that all food that has been eaten since birth "is still alive in you." It then says that the only way to "save yourself" is to be made into a statue or concrete. For this purpose, the letter organizes an event on a vacant lot on Girard Avenue to build the steel furnace, which will make the residents into a statue. There are numerous grammatical errors in the letter. The letter ends, "Do Attend."

Reaction[edit]

Images of the letter went viral, first appearing on a Reddit post by user, u/monkeychef, on the r/philadelphia board, which was then spread on various social media platforms.[3] Numerous internet memes have been created about the incident.[4]

It is unclear whether the letter was a sincere message from the author or simply a hoax. Some have observed that the letter shows marks of a mentally-ill author. In response to this, an online GoFundMe fundraiser was created to raise money for the Philadelphia Mental Health Clinic.[5] Officer Miguel Tores of the Philadelphia Police Department advised residents to report the letters to police, but no investigation followed.[6]

Crime and Punishment Brewing Co. planned to release a beer on April 27, inspired by the incident, called "Do Attend."[7]

An original letter was placed for auction on Ebay with a starting bid of $365.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

The only way I see for you to save yourself from the every which a way of being burned alive

That’s scheduled is to become a solid steel statue by place yourself under anesthesia

and mixing your body with melted metal then re solidifying the metal or seal yourself in cement.

When it becomes real to you, you can type it up and have a lot of copies made, then pass them out and post them up.

What is needed is a steel furnace where metal can be melted and the bodies of people and animals mixed with the metal to become steel unable to be hurt.

Of course, you’ll be sedated first.

There will b a meeting on April 27, 2019 12 o’clock in the afternoon on the subject of building a steel furnace at 27th and Girard Ave. on the vacant lot.

What we need is a bulldozer to dig some ditches and steel furnace equipment.
