GPTeens (short for GPT for Teens) is an AI-based chatbot developed by the South Korean company ACROSSPACE. It is built on the Generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) model and incorporates a pipeline structure with additional models to enhance its functionality. The chatbot is expanded using supervised fine-tuning to provide educational materials required by school curricula.
History
The development of GPTeens began in response to the growing demand for AI-based educational tools in South Korea. In May 2023, a prototype version of the chatbot was introduced to schools for limited testing by teachers and students. The first public version of GPTeens was officially launched in October 2024,[1] featuring educational materials aligned with the South Korean national curriculum.
