Gabriel Christian Brown (born February 22, 1990) is an American-Canadian singer, songwriter, and voice actor. Brown is best known for his Youtube channel "Black Gryph0n", which has accumulated over 867,000 subscribers. On his channel, Brown posts voice impressions, originial music, and cover songs. He frequently works with Canadian voice actress Michelle Creber.
Biography[edit]
Brown was born in Annapolis, Maryland. At the age of 18, he joined the US Navy in special operations.[2] While being trained, he broke his femur in a sky-diving accident. Due to this incident, he switched to the Navy's music department. He toured the Eastern Hemisphere, singing in 12 languages for the 7th Fleet band Orient Express.[3] [4] After an honorable discharge, Brown further pursued his music career. He created his Youtube channel in September of 2007. He posted his first song there on September 10, 2011. As of September, 2018 his channel has 867,556 subscribers and around 110,000,000 views.[5] Many of his songs revolve around the show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and he has become a popular figure in the brony fandom. He frequently attends My Little Pony conventions, performing with Michelle Creber[6][7], with whom he has released three music albums with.[8] Brown has also voiced some minor roles in TV shows and films. These roles include a guest appearance on Geronimo Stilton, and "Becky" in Finding Dory.[9][10]
