Goli Rezai Rashti
Goli Rezai-Rashti (Persian: گُلی رضایی رشتی) is an Iranian-born Canadian educational sociologist and professor at The University of Western Ontario, Canada.[1] She was Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, of the Faculty of Education.[2]
Rezai-Rashti entered the University of Toronto as a graduate student, gaining MA in 1977, and PhD in 1986 in Educational Theory. Her research interests and publications lie generally in the areas of teachers’ work and educational restructuring, race, gender, class, sexuality and schooling, globalization, internationalization, antiracist and anti-oppressive education, investigating the perspectives of minority students and teachers in urban schools, feminist and postcolonial studies in education, Muslim students and Canadian schools, women and higher education in Iran, democratic education and critical pedagogy, and boy’s underachievement in schools.[3]
Her most recent book is Gender, Race and the Politics of Role Modeling: The Influence of Male Teachers. [4] It is coauthored by Wayne Martino.
