Gordan-i Shwan or Platoon of Shwan/Shwan's platoon (in Kurdish:گوردانی شوان) was a platoon who belonged to the kurdish party Komala. Gordan-i Shwan was founded in the autumn of 1982 in Sine under the leadership of Abdullah Mohtadi and consisted of three arms. Gordan-i Shwan consisted of totally 70 Peshmergas who were all under a common commander, Kak Shoke.

History[edit]

Gordan-i Shwan was formed in the autumn, 1982 in Sine after three smaller groups, consisting Peshmerga guerrillas fused with each other and fought under the command of Hawre (Comrade) Shoke. The arms were: Arm of martyr Jalal who were depolyed in "Bayncho", Arm of martyr Salah who were deployed in "Afrasyaw" and Arm of martyr Hamid who were deployed in "Chatan". Gordan-i Shwan was a loved and famous platoon among the kurdish people in East Kurdistan, and they were well known for successfully carrying out operations against the Iranian Army. They were also known for being effective in guerilla warfare, as well as fighting inside the towns of Kurdistan.
