Gordon Centre is a shopping centre in the suburb of Gordon in Sydney's upper North Shore. The centre has 38 stores and is anchored by a Woolworths supermarket and Harvey Norman. Gordon Centre also houses a number of office tenants and a medical centre above the retail levels. The centre is adjoined with Gordon Village Arcade (also owned by Charter Hall) via an airbridge over the Pacific Highway.[1]

History[edit]

Gordon Centre opened in 1960 as Farmers & Co department store, which later became Myer. By the 1970s, nearby St Ives was supplanting Gordon as the main business centre in the North Shore with development from St Ives Shopping Village.[2] In 1985, Gordon Centre was refurbished and became known as Gordon Centre with the opening of Woolworths and Harvey Norman.

In December 2010, Gordon Centre bought by Charter Hall for $67m from Dexus.[3]

Gordon Village Arcade[edit]

Gordon Village Arcade is a shopping arcade comprising a mix of retail and medical services. The centre is conveniently located on the Pacific Highway and is connected to the Gordon Centre via an airbridge over the Pacific Highway. Gordon Village Arcade was built in 1955 and was refurbished in 1982. It now has 22 speciality stores including the Gordon post office.[4]
