Mandarin Centre is a shopping centre in the suburb of Chatswood in Sydney's North Shore. The centre features a Hoyts Cinema (second Hoyts in Chatswood, the first being in Westfield Chatswood), Strike Bowling, Trade Secret, Daiso and 30 other speciality store including Asian restaurants in the food court area.
Mandarin Centre opened in the 1990s (possibly 1995 - with Hoyts opened in 1995) and is located next to Westfield Chatswood.[1]
Proposed development[edit]
On 23 May 2014, plans for a 90 metre tower in Mandarin Centre has been submitted to Willoughby Council. The tower was to be 11 storeys high, and an eastern tower next to the Sebel would be 23 storeys. However it was rejected.[2]
On May 19 plans for it again was rejected after many locals fear it would cast a shadow over Chatswood Park.[3]
