Government Peripheral Hospital at Periyar Nagar[1][2] is a government hospital, at Periyar Nagar in Perambur, in the district of Chennai in Tamil Nadu in the peninsular India. In 1986, this hospital was unveiled by M. G. Ramachandran, the former CM of Tamil Nadu.[3] It is renovated recently with facilities of 300 oxygen beds for the benefit of patients coming from various places in and around Periyar Nagar. As per the 2017 observations, approximately 1,300 outpatients and 85 inpatients visited and got treatments daily. From 22 April, this is under the control of Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai.

Well connected by roads to other parts of Chennai and other districts of Tamil Nadu, by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (of Chennai) bus services. There is a Metro transport corporation bus terminus near to this hospital.

Upgradation[edit]

This hospital is upgraded to a hospital for infectious diseases. 4 operation theatres for ₹2.75 crore, Oxygen generating plant for ₹1.28 crore and a laboratory for ₹1 crore are equipped recently. It is one of the 6 peripheral hospitals that can also have the facility of teaching.[4]
