Hamid Shabbir Azar (Urdu: حامد شبیرازاد is a Lahore-based lawyer,[1] born on October 28, 1960 in Lahore. He is a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and a visiting professor of business law. He earned an LL.B. law degree from University of the Punjab in 1986 and a diploma in labour law in 1992. Azar is a Life Member of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. He served as the unopposed secretary of the library, Lahore High Court Bar Association, from 1994–1995, and was a member of the executive of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.[2] His elder son Muhammad Umair Hamid is also an Advocate of the High Court.
Early life
He was born and grew up in Lahore, Pakistan and also completed his education in Lahore. He joined the legal profession and worked in the Chamber of Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.[3]
Professional Background
He was associated with senior advocate Raza Kazim. He joined the Law Firm M/s Mandviwalla & Zafar & Legal Consultants. He assisted in many cases for S.M. Zafar and barrister Ali Zafar and remained there until 2002. He also joined the Chamber of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah in his Law Firm M/s Afridi, Shah & Minallah for a year, then became part of ABS & Co. law firm and remained an associate of Ahmer Bilal Soofi. He contested the election for member of the executive, Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, for the years 2009–2010 & 2010–2011 but was unsuccessful.[4] He deals in commercial, banking, insurance, and corporate matters.

Chairman
In view of his contribution and services, the President Lahore High Court Bar Association appointed him as Chairman, Air & Water Pollution Control Committee for 2020–2021. He is actively involved in rendering his services for the well-being of the Bar & Bench.
