Harsha Kumar Dasgupta

Harsha Kumar Dasgupta (born 10 December 1944 in Kolkata) is a retired geography teacher who performs Bengali covers of songs by the musical group Pink Floyd.[1]

Education and career

Kumar had primary education from Victoria Institution Rajabazar, Kolkata, and passed Higher Secondary from St. Paul's & Scottish Church School, Kolkata. He graduated from Vidyasagar College, Kolkata, and became a Post Graduate & PhD from the University of North Bengal. His research work was on Edible oil. His research guide was Dr. Anindya Pal (D.Sc.). Harsha Kumar Dasgupta joined as a lecturer at Union Christian Training College, Berhampore, Murshidabad in 1969, where he eventually became Principal. He retired in 2004.

After his retirement, he worked as a sound recorder in many studios with Goutam Nag, afterwards working as a guest professor & head of the geography department at Sripat Singh College of Jiaganj Azimganj, and also worked as a guest professor at Krishnagar Government College, Nadia district. He was also in the geography department at University of Kalyani.

Kumar creates Bengali covers of songs by Pink Floyd. In May 2016, Daily News and Analysis wrote, "If there's anyone who deserves to go viral, it's this talented gentleman."[2]
